'Mr. Id' tells the story of a failed and misogynistic writer, who moonlights as a part-time hitman, by the name of Jack Maggot, who has fallen into a self-destructive abyss through a slew of bad relationships, failed novels, and a dreaded past. One night, he meets Lenore, who assures him that if he finds a writer by the name of "Mr. Id", and kills him, Jack will have the life he has always wanted: the sterile purity and comfort of a dream come true. With the help of his street-walking "administrative assistant", Heather, Jack has to revisit three important women in his life, Andrea Walker, Mia Crumb, Margaret Bolamano, to see if they could somehow forgive him as well as steer him towards finding "Mr. Id". During the course of his 'investigation', he realizes that his own self-centered demise that he has created will only make his efforts at self-transformation nearly impossible to attain, no matter how much he wants to 'quit the racket and write full-time'. But he knows he needs to overcome what he can in order to clean himself up and find 'Mr. Id'. fe8 Written by Anonymous After refusing to watch this film for several years, I recently viewed it with some friends who had never seen it. I was amazed at how prophetic it actually is. Nevermind the terrible direction and the (generally) poor acting, the story itself is relevant to all American males today. What "Mr. Id" is really about is how strong, independent-minded American males are forced to either wallow in isolation or compromise their beliefs and allow themselves to be neutered by the gynocratic forces that have taken over this country. Like Socrates said when he was on trial, artists do not understand the wisdom they unleash, at least not in the beginning. I had no idea what this movie was about when I wrote it. Now I realize it is an accusation. The fact that the largely feminine hollywood establishment refused to distribute it attests to the power it represents. Long live Jack Maggot!!! Maggot cannot get his experimental prose published, so he works on the side "snuffing" published writers who have "sold out." He is contracted to find a writer on the verge of being published named Mr. Id. In his search for Mr. Id, Jack is led through his past, all the while indulging in his primal desires keeping him from becoming ordinary and writing a bland novel that will get him published.
